Low Back Pain…

Experts estimate that 80% of the population will experience a low back problem at some time in our lives. The low back, made up of five lumbar vertebra attaching to your pelvis (hips) and sacrum (the end of the spine), bears a great portion of your weight during most activities. It is the area that works the hardest during any lifting you might do. Even though it absorbs a great deal of stress, it is also designed to move or bend. Because the low back is so versatile and so strong, it can also undergo a great deal of abuse—for a time. A lifetime of improper sitting, lifting or posture can build up. Combined with sports injuries, overuse injuries, and mini traumas (how many times did you fall before you learned to walk?), it is amazing your low back works at all. If your low back aches, doesn’t move like it used to, or isn’t as strong as it used to be, it is a sign that something is wrong. Pain and reduced range of motion don’t have to be a part of life. Check with a chiropractor who can realign your spine and keep degenerative changes from progressing as rapidly as they might be.
